Subscription FAQ

Can I cancel my Patreon now? And what about the Champaign Room Feed?

YUP! Go ahead and cancel that jawn! As for the Champagne Room RSS feed, thank it for its service and say goodbye to it, as well!

How do I sign up for the Official Discord?

There are two ways! First you will receive a welcome email with a link to follow to connect your Discord. The email you receive is quite long and, depending on your email client, you may have to click “read more” at the bottom of the message to see the link to connect to Discord. Alternatively, you can go to the new subscription service home page and click the big purple button that says “Glass Cannon Network Discord.” If you are having trouble seeing the new channels or even if you’re not, we highly suggest logging in and out of Discord after connecting.

I don’t see all of the podcasts in this new service that were available on Patreon. You guys goofed, right?

Wrong. As understandable as it would be to think that we just forgot to add a bunch of shows to this service, we actually put a lot of thought into this! As we prepared to embark on offering a new white label subscription service, we wanted to take a look at our offerings as a whole to better curate and streamline both our exclusive content and our publicly available shows. If you notice something is missing, rest assured that it was an intentional choice. This new service is not meant to mirror what we offered on Patreon. While very similar, this is meant to be an evolution, not an exact replica.

OK, but where are Haunted City, Time For Chaos, Voyagers of the Jump and Cannon Fodder?

These are all available for free on your podcast app of choice. With the exception of The Glass Cannon Podcast Campaign Two, the publicly available shows are no longer part of the subscription service.

Right, but not only am I a completionist, I’ve also been barely skimming this document. Can you just tell me what other feeds I need to subscribe to so I can be sure that I have them all?

We’ll do you one better! Here are the RSS feeds for all of our publicly available shows!

Why are there multiple different versions of Cannon Fodder available in the subscription feed?

Cannon Fodder has gone through several different iterations over the years. The episodes of Cannon Fodder that were exclusively available on Patreon are the ones in our new subscription service. The original Cannon Fodder that started around Episode 55 of the GCP is still out there as its own thing on every podcast app and the “new” Cannon Fodder that started in 2023 is available on the GCP feed.

Do I need to pay anything when I switch over?

It all depends on where you are in your Patreon payment cycle when you come over. The date at which you switch over to the new service will be your new recurring billing date. You will be credited for whatever time you have remaining on your Patreon subscription and will be billed for the difference on a prorated basis.

For example, if you paid for a year, you will be credited for the amount of the year's sub that you have remaining. But it will reset the renewal date of your annual sub to the date that you switch, so you will be asked to pay the difference when you switch over. If you signed up for an annual subscription on March 21, 2023, and switched to the new service on September 21st, 2023, you would receive a 50% credit for the 6 months remaining on your sub, but you would be asked to pay the other 50% at that time and the new renewal date for your sub would change from 3/21/24 to 9/21/24. Make sense?

Is it possible to have one big feed like I had with Patreon?

Nope. Those days are over! This service allows you to choose which of the shows that are available at your subscription plan that you want to subscribe to, with separate RSS feeds for each. The future is NOW!

I was at the Bottlecap! Tier on Patreon, but I don’t see that as an option on the new service. What do I need to do?

Have we got some good news for you! If you are one of the $15 people migrating over to our new service, not only are you going to continue receiving those sweet, sweet caps, BUT you will also be receiving all of the benefits from the $25 tier AT NO EXTRA COST! Why? Because you’re awesome, that’s why!

I see that the $25 tier is going from 3 coupon codes per year to 2. Is that right?

You are correct. BUT we are also now including the Talk Nerdy Town Hall chats as a benefit for this plan previously only available to the $50 and up subscribers on Patreon! Getting to chat with Skid a few times a year is priceless.

Will the OG GCP get added to the new subscription service?

No.

I don’t understand why you changed _______! Explain yourself!

We have always prided ourselves on being extremely transparent. One need only listen to Troy and Joe on Cannon Fodder from week to week to hear their forthright thoughts on the behind the scenes of building a business. The opportunity to start fresh, in many ways, with this new service, was as exciting as it was scary, but we knew we had a chance here to look at how we’ve always done things and rebuild from the ground up. With the ever-changing needs of our business, we decided to make some alterations that we knew would be best for us in the long run, while always keeping the end user in mind. From the first ever increase in prices for new subscribers to streamlining the plans to reorganizing which shows are available on the new service, we agonized over every small change that was made. In the end, we feel confident that we’ve struck a balance with the new service which will continue to provide the best value for the customer while also helping us to continue to grow and build for the future.
